Inlays, Onlays and Crowns

Inlays, Onlays and Crowns
When a patient’s tooth has decayed to the point that intervention is necessary, Dr. Dumais may perform a variety of dental fillings such as inlay, onlay, or even a crown in order for our patients to keep all their own teeth.

Inlays and dental fillings are very similar as a solid substance, such as porcelain or gold, is fitted into the tooth cavity and cemented.

When the cusp of a tooth is affected, in a method of dental fillings, the cusp will be replaced with an onlay.

Sometimes a tooth is so badly decayed that a dental filling is not enough, and the tooth needs to be completely replaced. Fortunately, it is possible to place a porcelain crown on top of a filed down tooth from which all the decay has been removed. A patient’s appearance is maintained in such a way no one will ever know.

As a practitioner of general dentistry for nearly 25 years, Dr. Dumais is an expert on all these procedures and has the experience to take care of all your dental needs.
